The Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase 2013
The Trinidad and Tobago Film Company in association with the Muestra Itinerante de Cine del Caribe in Cuba and UNESCO will launch the 5th Annual Traveling Caribbean Film Showcase (TCFS) at Little Carib Theatre on Tuesday July 30th at 6:30pm.
The Travelling Caribbean Film Showcase is a programme initiated by Muestra Itinerante de Cine del Caribe in Cuba with the support of UNESCO, by which films produced by Caribbean film-makers are selected for screening in several Caribbean countries. There are twenty-two (22) films in the 2013 Showcase including the Trinidadian film entitled “Mas Man” by Mr. Dalton Narine.
The Launch will showcase the Guadeloupian film entitled Elsa’s Happiness which follows the story of a young girl who leaves Paris to return to her birthplace of Guadeloupe in hopes of re-uniting with her Father.
The 2013 TCFS will host a range of films suitable for all audiences including children. The films have originated from a host of countries including Guadeloupe, Cuba, Puerto Rico, Haiti, Venezuela, Dominican Republic, Jamaica and Trinidad and Tobago. Films selected are of diverse topics and stories that explore the history, social reality and culture of the Caribbean territories that have influenced the respective Caribbean filmmakers.
